The Barrett .50 Caliber is the latest favorite by U.S. forces

Excerpt from website: The M107 sniper rifle is set to be adopted by the US Army. The system is similar to the US Marine Corps Barrett M82A1 .50 caliber sniper system. The M107 enables Army snipers to accurately engage personnel and material targets out to a distance of 1500 to 2000 meters respectively. The weapon is designed to effectively engage and defeat material targets at extended ranges including parked aircraft, command, control and communications, computers, intelligence sites, radar sites, ammunition, petroleum, oil and lubricant sites and various lightly armored targets.

How to Design a Sniper Paintball Gun

  1. Your ability to be concealed is the most important factor when designing a paintball sniper gun. Ghillie, low profile, and accuracy are some major things to look at. First you will want to pick a gun with a low profile, Tippmanns are best for this, but there are many others out there, stay away from speed ball guns though, as they have a very high profile.
  2. Accuracy is key, what you are striving for is summed up in the famous saying “One shot, One kill” In order to do this, you will want a rather long barrel, yet one that is light and easy to move around. Stiffi barrels are made out of carbon fiber and kevlar, they are extremely light, and very durable. I have seen many snipers with barrels over 20 inches, this is great, if you don’t plan on moving. If you also plan to move around a lot, i recommend something in the 16 to 18 inch area, these provide good accuracy and good range. Look for porting (small holes to let air escape) at the last 2 inches of the barrel, this also helps with range.

  3. Most woodsball guns are black, which is great, dark, not very visible, great for an assault team, but you are a sniper! You need to blend into leaves and bushes, and honestly, how many black bushes do you see? Camouflaging your gun is next to an art, you will want to break up the shape of the gun so that you cant tell it is a gun from a distance. Ghillie is a great way to do this. See my article “How to make a paintball ghillie suit” for tips on making your own ghillie. If you don’t mind painting your gun, another great way to give it a camo look is to buy a can of Dark Olive Green spray paint and paint the entire gun. Now, find some leaves from some trees common to your area, soak the leaves in water and press them onto your gun, they will stick there. Paint the entire gun with tan spray paint. Remove the leaves and let dry. This gives your gun a nice sniper look, and a very customized look as well, sure to impress your friends!

What is the best sniper paintball gun ever?

The A5 is what I use in the woods but I have a friend that uses a Smart Parts ION with a tactical body kit from special ops and he has a longbow which is a Hopper that looks like a barrel holds 20 rounds also has the Q loader (Tactical tube). Its very quiet and  I wish the A5 was that quiet too.
